wherein each of R¹, R², R³ and R⁴ is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group, and m is an integer of from 1 to 3, which comprises reducing a substituted trichloromethylpyridine derivative of the formula (I):
wherein R¹, R², R³ and R⁴ are as defined above, with use of acetic acid, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, as a proton donor, and zinc, tin or a mixture thereof, as a reducing agent.
