An improvement to the use of DMF as a solvent for the condensation of 2-chlorobenzoic acids with aliphaticprimary or secondary amines was described. A number of alkylaminobenzoic acids and dialkylaminobenzoic acids were synthesized in acceptable-to-good yield.
