The present invention relates to a protective agent for food products and the like and for curing and/or storage rooms of the same, which includes at least one substance of the type preferably chosen among carboxylic acids and related derivatives, and normally used as a food additive and/or flavouring and/or excipient, and at least one substance, selected between a diluent and an emulsifying agent, preferably chosen among water, food additives, food flavourings and their combinations.
Highly Active Manganese-Mediated Acylation of Alcohols with Acid Chlorides or Anhydrides
To explore further the practical uses of highly active manganese (Mn*), a variety of alcohols were treated with Mn*, and the resulting complexes were coupled with acid chlorides and/or acetic anhydride in the absence of any extra catalyst. The subsequent reactions took place smoothly under mild conditions, providing the corresponding O-acylation products in good to excellent isolated yields.
