Reported herein is a palladium‐catalyzed, directed γ‐C(sp3)−Harylation of protected thiols. The key is to utilize Michael acceptors as a dual reagent to install a protecting/directing group on thiols by a thiol‐Michael click reaction, and remove it later under basic conditions. The C−H arylation proceeds with high functional‐group tolerance and the deprotected thiols can be further transformed into

copper-catalyzed coupling of terminalalkynes with aryl iodides and vinyl halides is reported. In general, the reactions are completed in 10–30 min using 2–5 mol% [CuI(xantphos)] as a catalyst to provide the corresponding alkynes and enynes in good to excellent yields. A broad spectrum of aryl iodides, vinyl iodides, and bromides are coupled with aryl- and alkyl alkynes. The microwave-assisted, copper-catalyzed

The synthesis of CuOcatalysts supported on mesoporoussilicaderivedfrom rice husks and semiconductor copper from chemical mechanical planarization (Cu-CMP) wastewater is described. These catalysts are active for the coupling reaction of CsOH with aryliodides. Low catalyst loading (1 mol-%) without the need for ancillary ligands make these very attractive “green” catalysts.
