    The specific nonpurely thermal effects of microwaves were evidenced according to neutral or charged leaving groups during nucleophilic substitution of benzylic electrophiles with triphenylphosphine and tributylphosphine. Microwave (MW) irradiation considerably enhanced the reactions with charged alkylating agents, especially under solvent-free conditions. Results are interpreted considering the magnitude of MW effects according to the position of the transition state along the reaction coordinates.Key words: microwave irradiation, specific effects, phosphonium salts, leaving group effects.

    The present invention relates to a process for preparing organosilicon compounds by the silylation of conjugated dienes and more particularly, to the process for preparing organosilicon compounds expressed by the following Formulas 1a and 1b in high yield, comprising the steps of heating trichlorosilane in the presence of quaternary organophosphonium salt catalyst to generate dichlorosilylene (:SiCl 2 ); and silylating the result with linear or cyclic conjugated dienes, 1 wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 are independently a hydrogen atom, a C 1 -C 6 alkyl, phenyl group, or two functional groups among R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 may be covalently bonded to each other to form a cyclic compound of C 4 -C 8 .

    This invention relates to (organothiomethyl)chlorosilanes and methods for their preparation by the dehydrohalogenative Si—C coupling reaction of oranothiomethyl halides with Si—H containing chlorosilanes (hydrosilanes), wherein a mixture of oranothiomethyl halide and hydrosilane is heated in the presence of tertiary amine or organic salts (quaternary organoammonium and organophosphonium halides to give (organothiomethyl)chlorosilanes, which is existing a sulfur atom in alkyl chain, (formula:: R 2 SCH 2 SiCl 2 R 1 ) in good yield, wherein R 1 represents a hydrogen atom, halogen, or C 1 -C 6 alkyl; R 2 is selected from the group consisting of C 1 -C 6 alkyl or an aryl group. Especially, this reaction using organic salt as a catalyst provide better economical matter and yield compared with conventional methods, because only catalytic amount of organic salt is required and the catalyst can be separated from the reaction mixture and recycled easily.
