The invention relates to the compounds of formula I:
and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof, wherein n, G, W, X, Y, and R1 are defined in the detailed description and claims. The compounds of formula I bind to or associate with VLA-4 and can be used in delivery formulations to deliver drugs, nucleic acids, or other therapeutic compounds to tissues or cells expressing VLA-4.
Surgical reduction: N‐Heterocyclic carbene–borane complexes such as depicted are neutral, organic soluble analogues of borohydride anions with a weak hydridic character, compatible with organometallic catalysis. They are applicable for surgical reductions in complex, multifunctional molecules.
The use of tetrabutylammonium, biflouride as stable and easily available source of flouride ion in nucleophilic substitution process with different substrates is reported.

respectively, with tetrabutylammonium fluoride, are effective sources of nucleophilic azide or cyanide. Primary and secondary alkyl halides and sulfonates undergo rapid and efficient azide or cyanide displacement in the absence of phase transfer catalysts with the silicate derivatives. Application of these reagents to the stereoselective synthesis of glycosyl azide derivatives is reported.

A series of N- and C-alkylated amino alcohols and of their protected galactopyranosyl derivatives was synthesized and evaluated for antitubercular activity. Five of these compounds displayed good activity, with a MIC below 12.5mug/mL. The presence of the carbohydrate slightly affected the antibacterial activity.
