  Disclosed are compounds and compositions that bind to the La-related protein 1 (LARP1). LARP1 has roles as both a repressor of translation and stabilizer of mRNA transcripts, and therefore functions as a molecular switch in cancer biology. LARP1 also upregulates the proliferation of RNA viruses.
