N-cyclohexylisoproylamide and deprotection. The phosphonicacids 3 (Ki 5.5 10-5 M) and 4 (Ki 2.3.10−4M) are stronger inhibitors of Vibrio choleraesialidase than the anomeric N-acetyl-2-deoxyneuraminic acids 5(Ki 2.3 10−3M) and 6. Both 3 and 4 inhibit the Vibrio choleraesialidase, while only the carboxylic acid 5, possessing an equatorial COOH group is an inhibitor.
