    The present invention relates to the use of an anionically ampholytic or cationically ampholytic copolymer which which is obtainable by free-radical copolymerization of a1) at least one compound with a free-radically polymerizable, α,β-ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one anionogenic and/or anionic group per molecule, a2) at least one compound with a free-radically polymerizable, α,β-ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one cationogenic and/or cationic group per molecule, b) at least one free-radically polymerizable crosslinking compound which comprises at least two α,β-ethylenically unsaturated double bonds per molecule, c) if appropriate in the presence of at least one silicone compound comprising a polyether group and/or a free-radically polymerizable olefinically unsaturated double bond, as rheology modifier for hair cosmetic compositions.

    This disclosure relates to a method for producing polyethylene open-cell foam materials, comprising a process step of pressurized heating at a temperature of 110 to 135°C of a base compound consisting of polyethylene or a copolymer of polyethylene which has been compounded with an azodicarbonamide foaming agent and a bridging agent, in order to obtain a primary intermediate product with a cubical expansion coefficient of 1.0 to 2.0 times; a process step of heating the primary intermediate product under normal atmospheric pressure at a temperature of 150∼190°C and thus causing the complete decomposition of the foaming agent in order to obtain a secondary intermediate product having cell membranes capable of being easily ruptured by mechanical compression, and a process step of subjecting said secondary intermediate product to mechanical pressure in order to rupture and interconnect the closed cells; and, as needed, a foaming assist agent, or a high-melting-point resin powder, or both a high-melting-point resin powder and a foaming assist agent are added to and compounded with the base compound so that the resulting products are high-expansive or ultra-high-expansive materials with an expansion ratio of 25 times said base compound, or more, and have an open-cell ratio of 96-100%.

    A peroxide catalysts concentrate is provided including one or two polymers chosen with the criteria that the polymers form a homogeneous composition that the melt index composition be in the range of 250 to 2500 grams per ten minutes, that the average softening point of the composition be in the range of 50 degrees to 115 degrees centigrade and that the melting range peaks of the polymer differ by at least 30 centigrade degrees offering improved stability and utility in essentially every kind of processing equipment with essentially no degradation or loss of peroxide activity with the added advantage of being able to use low volatility and highly active peroxides with a one hour half-life down to 95°C.
