    Provided is a facilitated CO 2 transport membrane having improved CO 2 permeance and improved CO 2 selective permeability. The facilitated CO 2 transport membrane includes a separation-functional membrane comprising a hydrophilic polymer gel membrane which contains a CO 2 carrier and a CO 2 hydration catalyst, wherein the hydrophilic polymer is a copolymer including a first structural unit derived from an acrylic acid cesium salt or an acrylic acid rubidium salt and a second structural unit derived from vinyl alcohol. More preferably, the CO 2 hydration catalyst has catalytic activity at a temperature of 100° C. or higher.

    Additives suitable for improving the flow and/or depressing the cloud point of crude oils, lubricating oils and especially fuel oils are polymers containing defined alkyl groups of at least 8 carbon atoms chain length. Such polymers are either (a) of a mixture of monomers having only two alkyl groups one being at least 3 carbon atoms longer than the other or (b) of a mixture of monomers having only three alkyl groups each differing by at least 3 carbon atoms and the middle alkyl group being half the combined length of the other two. Alternatively, the polymer may be derived from a monomer having the two defined alkyl groups (a) or the three defined alkyl groups (b).

    An oil-absorbent composition including 30 to 99.5 parts by weight of (I) an oil-absorbent, cross-linked polymer formed from 96 - 99.999% by weight of (A) a monomer having a polymerizable unsaturated group in the molecule, the monomer (A) containing mainly a monomer having a solubility parameter of not more than 9, and 0.001-4% by weight of (B) a cross-linking monomer having at least two polymerizable unsaturated groups in the molecule, provided the sum of monomer (A) and cross-linking monomer (B) is 100%, and 0.5 to 70. parts by weight of (IV) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (II) an inorganic compound having a methanol value of not less than 25% and (III) a substantially water insoluble organic acid salt, provided the sum of oil-absorbent, cross-linked polymer (I) and compound (IV) is 100 parts by weight.
