    Process for the carbonylation of butadiene and/or at least one butadiene derivative in the presence of carbon monoxide, an alcohol and/or water, a rhodium-containing catalyst and an iodide containing promotor, wherein the carbonylation and/or carbonylation product recovery is performed in the presence of at least one stabilizer compound selected from a compound of an element of any of the groups 1-2 of the Periodic Table, a first row transition metal compound of any of the groups 3-12 of the Periodic Table, a compound of an element of group 13 of the Periodic Table, a compound of an element of group 15 of the Periodic Table, a rhenium compound, an iridium compound, a platinum compound and a cerium compound.
