    The invention provides a photocurable resin composition which inhibits the deactivation of a bisacylphosphine oxide-series photopolymerization initiator and is useful for coating optical fibers. The photocurable resin composition comprises (A) a polyurethane (meth)acrylate oligomer, (B) an ethylenically unsaturated compound, (C) a bisacylphosphine oxide-series photopolymerization initiator, and (D) a tertiary amine and no tin component. Incorporation of the component (D) inhibits the decomposition and deactivation of the component (C). The component (A) may contain an aliphatic C14-40 polyol (hydrogenated dimerdiol, 12-hydroxystearyl alcohol) as a polyol component. This resin composition is used for a primary coating of a glass fiber or an indirect coating of an optical fiber through the primary layer, the coating layer being cured by light irradiation to provide an optical fiber coated with the resin composition.

    In the coating composition for a optical fiber of the present invention, a polyurethane (meth)acrylate oligomer (A), which is based on a urethane prepolymer having an equivalent ratio of NCO group in a polyisocyanate (a) to OH group in a polyol (b) of more than 3.0, is used and the oligomer (A) has a mixing weight ratio of an oligomer (d) having a number average molecular weight of 800 or less to an oligomer (e) having a number average molecular weight of 1,000 or more of 30/70 - 70/30. The coating composition of this invention has a low viscosity, and therefore, is suitable for a rapid fiber-drawing in a production of an optical fiber. Further, a cured material obtained from the coating composition of the present invention has both a high elastic modulus and a high elongation, which properties are required for a hard material, and has a slight change of elastic modulus with a change of temperature to improve a long-term reliability of an optical fiber.

    A shaped article is obtained by polymerizing a selectively reflective solution comprising a cellulose derivative and a polymerizable solvent. The cellulose derivative is a cellulose derivative having an alkyl degree of substitution of about 2.2 to 3, an acyl degree of substitution of about 0 to 0.8, and a total degree of alkyl and acyl substitution of about 2.8 to 3 [e.g., a highly substituted alkyl cellulose (ethy cellulose) or an acylated alkyl cellullose]. Moreover, the polymerizable solvent may be a (meth)acrylic monomer (e.g., (meth)acrylic acid)]. According to the present invention, there is provided a shaped article having selective reflectivity with respect to wavelength and circularly polarized light.

    It is intended to obtain a photocurable fixture for orthopedic surgery for which required strength can be obtained in a short period of time with visible light. A photocurable resin containing a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer of the following formula (I) and a photopolymerization initiator which absorbs a light of 400 to 700 nm is prepared. This photocurable resin 4 is retained in a base material 3 to form a support material 5. The inside of this support material 5 is covered with a buffer material 6 and the outside is covered with a cover material 2, to obtain a splint material 1 as a fixture for orthopedic surgery. The buffer material 6 side is put on affected parts, and a bandage is wound over it, and then molding is carried out under irradiation with visible light. As the curing proceeds, a splint is obtained and the affected parts can be fixed. (in the formula (I), A denotes a diisocyanate residue, and each of X and Y denotes a (meth)acrylate residue having a hydroxy group.)
