    Tyrosinase and Layer-by-Layer supported tyrosinases in the synthesis of lipophilic catechols with antiinfluenza activity
    摘要:
    Catechol derivatives with lipophilic properties have been selectively synthesized by tyrosinase in high yield avoiding long and tedious protection/deprotection steps usually required in traditional procedures. The synthesis was effective also with immobilized tyrosinase able to perform for more runs. The novel catechols were evaluated against influenza A virus, that continue to represent a severe threat worldwide. A significant antiviral activity was observed in derivatives characterized by antioxidant activity and long carbon alkyl side-chains, suggesting the possibility of a new inhibition mechanism based on both redox and lipophilic properties.     Carbon nanotubes supported tyrosinase in the synthesis of lipophilic hydroxytyrosol and dihydrocaffeoyl catechols with antiviral activity against DNA and RNA viruses
    摘要:
    Hydroxytyrosol and dihydrocaffeoyl catechols with lipophilic properties have been synthesized in high yield using tyrosinase immobilized on multi-walled carbon nanotubes by the Layer-by-Layer technique. All synthesized catechols were evaluated against a large panel of DNA and RNA viruses, including Poliovirus type 1, Echovirus type 9, Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), Coxsackievirus type B3 (Cox B3), Adenovirus type 2 and type 5 and Cytomegalovirus (CMV). A significant antiviral activity was observed in the inhibition of HSV-1, HSV-2, Cox B3 and CMV. The mechanism of action of the most active dihydrocaffeoyl derivative was investigated against a model of HSV-1 infection. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

    Polyoxyalkylene polyether polyols are stabilized against oxidative degradation by incorporating therein a synergistic stabilizing composition containing (1) a mixture of butylated phenols consisting of 2-tertiary butyl phenol, 3,5-ditertiary butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamate and 1,6-hexamethylene bis (3,5-ditertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamate) or tetrakis [methylene(3,5-ditertiary butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinna mate)] methane (2) a p,p'-dialkyldiphenylamine such as p,p'- dioctyldiphenylamine and (3) a phenothiazine compound. Polyurethane foams are stabilized against scorching when the stabilized polyols are utilized in the foam preparation or the stabilizing composition is added with other reactants.

    Polyphase, transparent, polyblock, oligomer-free, segmented urethane polymers are disclosed which are eminently suited for use in medical devices such as blood bags, etc., and are deriveable from chain extenders, free diisocyanate molecules and prepolymers consisting essentially of linear molecules which are terminated at each end by isocyanate groups. The prepolymer molecules consist of n branched, polyether glycol residues joined through intervening carbamate groups with (n+1) diisocyanate residues, n ranging from about 1 to 4 and having an average value of less than 2. The polyether glycols have molecular weights of from about 1000 to about 6000 and are methylol-terminated chains of alkylene oxide units. Importantly, the final polymers are free of domain crystallinity.

    A particular branched chain polyalkylenepolyamine ("PAPA") having plural amine groups including a secondary amine group intermediate terminal free primary amine groups (that is, neither one is hindered), and having at least two C atoms between each group, may be selectively cyclized with a ketoform reaction to form a polysubstit­uted piperazinone ("PSP"), with specific directivity. Such PSPs are linked to a triazine nucleus to yield pip­erazinone-triazine ("PIP-T") compounds which are excel­lent stabilizers for polyolefins and other light-degrad­able polymers. Certain acyclic polyalkylenepolyamines may have a PIP-T substituent at each N atom forming pend­ant PIP-Ts ("P[PIP-T]" for brevity) which are also excel­lent stabilizers, and like some of the PIP-Ts, some P[PIP-T]s provide photostabilization without noticeably interfering with the color of films and fibers provided by even pastel-colored pigments and dyes.
