    An organic high molecular composition having improved fire retardance, which is prepared by compounding a fire retardant composition comprising (a) organic high molecular material, (b) organic fire retardant, and (c) incombustible, polar, inorganic powder, with (d) a multi-functional compound and (e) an organic compound represented by the following formula [wherein Z represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, A represents a divalent hydrocarbyl group containing 2 to 20 carbon atoms, optionally having a substituent, and forming a ring together with the adjacent two carbon atoms and B, and B represents an oxygen atom or an imino group represented by -NY- (wherein Y represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an organic group containing 30 or less carbon atoms)] or the hydrolyzate thereof.

    A propylene resin composition composed of (A) 50 to 70% by weight, based on the total weight of (A), (B) and (C), of a propylene-ethylene block copolymer which has an ethylene content of 15 to 35 mole% and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 10 to 60 g/10 min. and in which the propylene component has an isotacticity index of at least 95%, (B) 25 to 40% by weight, based on the total weight of (A), (B) and (C), of a random copolymer of ethylene with an alpha-olefin having at least 3 carbon atoms which has an ethylene content of 60 to 85 mole%, a melt fiow rate of 0.1 to 2 g/10 min. and a crystallinity, determined bythe X-ray method, of not more than 10, and (C) 3to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of (A), (B) and (C), oftalc powder having an average particle size of 0.1 to 5 microns.

    An improved copolyester fiber capable of being dyed with cationic dyes and having an excellent brightness, heat resistance and a satisfactory mechanical strength comprises a copolyester resin comprising a polymerization product of at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid compound, at least one alkylene diol compound and at least one quaternary phosphonium organic sulfonate of the formula (I): wherein A = an aromatic or aliphatic radical, XI = H or an ester-forming organic radical, X2 = an ester-forming organic radical, R1, R2, R3 and R4 = an alkyl or aryl radical, n = 1 or more, and having an [η]f of 0.5 or more, the copolyester fiber having a silk factor of 25 or more and exhibiting the number of scission of backbone chains of the copolyester molecules of 140 x 1023 or less per 106 g of fiber when wet heat-treated in a solution of 0.4 g/I of acetic acid in distilled water at 130°C for 60 minutes.

    An insulating composition comprising a syndiotactic polypropylene (s-PP) having a syndiotactic pentad ratio of not less than 0.7 and an MFR of 0.05-20 g/10 min. The composition of the present invention comprising a specific s-PP can provide an article having superior electric properties and mechanical properties. In particular, the article can retain superior electric properties and mechanical properties even after rapid cooling or gradual cooling for re-processing of said article. Accordingly, the composition of the present invention can be suitable used for insulating layer, coating layer of various power cables inclusive of high voltage wires and low voltage wires, coating layer of optical fibers and insulator of wire-connecting structures.
