卤代芳基亚甲基膦酸酯3可以进行Pd(0)介导的C-C偶联反应,生成二芳基,芳基杂芳基,二杂芳基,芳基乙烯基芳基/杂芳基和芳基乙炔基芳基/杂芳基-羰基甲基亚膦酰基膦4-9。Suzuki-Kumada反应也可以一步一步从(卤代芳酰基甲基)三苯基tri溴化物2进行。化合物4–9是空气稳定的膦烷,会与醛10进行正式的Wittig-烯化反应在苯甲酸催化下。C–C偶联反应和Wittig烯烃化反应也可以一步一步进行。已经进行了初步实验以在固体载体上进行合成。在C-7取代的estra-1,3,5(10)-三烯14和C-16取代的estra-1,3,5(10),6-四烯中链末端的链延长和官能化的应用显示了12个。
