    The present invention is intended to provide a polar group-containing thermoplastic polymer having high adhesion to metals and polar polymers, uses thereof and a polar group-containing unsaturated compound. The polar group-containing thermoplastic polymer is one obtained by graft modifying a thermoplastic polymer with at least one kind of a polar group-containing unsaturated compound represented by the following formula (I):         A-X-R2-(Y)p-R1     (I) wherein A is a group containing a double bond, X is -COO-, -OCO-, -CO-, -O- or the like, R2 is a divalent group containing a carbon atom or a single bond, Y is -CO-, -COO-, -OCO-, -O- or the like, p is 0 or 1, R1 is a polar group selected from a carboxylic anhydride group, an epoxy group and the like or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group containing a polar group, and the bond chain linking the double bond in A to the polar group in R1 is constituted of 6 or more atoms.

The olefin block copolymers (A-1) of the invention are represented by the formula (I) PO 1 —g 1 —B 1 (I) (wherein PO 1 is a segment composed of repeating units derived from an olefin having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, g 1 is an ester, ether, amide, imide, urethane, urea, silylether or carbonyl linkage, and B 1 is a segment containing an unsaturated hydrocarbon or a hetero atom). The olefin block copolymers are suitable for uses in adhesives; various molded articles such as construction and civil engineering materials, automobile interior and exterior materials, gasoline tanks, electric and electronic parts, medical care and sanitation materials, materials of miscellaneous goods, resin materials having environmental degradation properties, films and sheets; modifiers and dispersions.

    An insulating material comprising a cycloolefin polymer, specifically, an interlayer insulating material for a high-density assembly board having interlayer-connecting via holes at most 200 &mgr;m in diameter, comprising a cycloolefin polymer containing at least 50 mol % of a repeating unit derived from a cycloolefin monomer; a dry film formed from a curable resin composition comprising a polymer having a number average molecular weight within a range of 1,000 to 1,000,000 as measured by gel permeation chromatography, and a hardener; and a resin-attached metal foil obtained by forming a film of a cycloolefin polymer on one side of a metal foil. Laminates, multi-layer laminates and build-up multi-layer laminates making use of these materials, and production processes thereof.

    The thermoplastic resin composition (Xi) of the present invention comprises (A1), (B1), (C1), and optionally (D1) below: 1 to 90 wt % of an isotactic polypropylene (A1); 9 to 98 wt % of a propylene/ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (B1) containing 45 to 89 mol% of propylene-derived structural units, 10 to 25 molt of ethylene-derived structural units, and optionally, 0 to 30 mol% of C 4 -C 20 α-olefin-derived structural units (a1); 1 to 80 wt % of a styrene-based elastomer (C1); and 0 to 70 wt % of an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (D1) whose density is in the range of 0.850 to 0.910 g/cm 3 , wherein (A1)+(B1)+(C1)+(D1)=100 wt %.
