Hydrothermal synthesis and structural characterization of a novel NLO compound, La(MoO2)(OH)(IO3)4

Abstract A novel lanthanum molybdenyl iodate, La(MoO2)(OH)(IO3)4, has been prepared by hydrothermal reactions at 170 °C. The X-ray single-crystal structural analysis showed that it crystallizes in the polar and chiral space group P21 with a = 7.0513(7) A, b = 14.225(1) A, c = 7.1206(8) A, β = 115.653(8)°, Z = 2, R 1 / w R 2 = 0.0269 / 0.0608 for 2828 observed reflections, and 191 parameters. La(MoO2)(OH)(IO3)4
