  [EN] Polymers are randomly labelled with labelling groups such as fluorophores, by a process of creating free radicals on the polymer in the presence of a stable free radical, such as an aminooxyl compound, so that the stable free radical group bonds to the polymer in random fashion. Labelling groups such as fluorophores are attached to the stable free radical groups, before or after they are attached to the polymer. The process allows labelling of polymers having no reactive functional groups, it can also be applied to the labelling of nucleic acids, for use in conjunction with a PCR chain extension sequencing process, to allow the sequencing of target nucleic acids of high molecular weight.
  [FR] Des polymères sont marqués de manière aléatoire par des groupes de marquage tels que des fluorophores, par un procédé de création de radicaux libres sur le polymère en présence d'un radical libre stable, tel qu'un composé d'aminooxyle, de telle sorte que groupe de radicaux libres stables se lie au polymère de manière aléatoire. Des groupes de marquage tels que des fluorophores sont fixés aux groupes de radicaux libres stables, avant ou après avoir été fixés au polymère. Ce procédé assure le marquage de polymères ne présentant pas de groupes fonctionnels réactifs. Il peut également être appliqué au marquage des acides nucléiques, pour être utilisé en association avec un procédé de mise en séquence d'extension de chaîne par un processus de réaction en chaîne de la polymérase et permettre ainsi la mise en séquence d'acides nucléiques cibles de poids moléculaire élevé.
