  There are disclosed a benzopyrancarboxamide derivative of the formula    wherein R¹ is hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R² is hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, halogen atom, an amino radical or an acylamino group; R³ is hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or halogen atom; dotted line is a possible double bond; and n is an integer of 1 - 5, and a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the compound, a process for the preparation of the compound and salt as well as use thereof. The derivative and salt can be easily synthesized, show powerful agonisting action to 5-HT₄ receptor and has very low side effect to central nerve system.
