AN EFFICIENT ONE POT SYNTHESIS OF CARBAMATE ESTERS THROUGH ALCOHOLIC TOSYLATES*
摘要:
An efficient O-alkylation of alcoholic tosylates with amines in a K2CO3/CO2 system in the presence of tetrabutyl ammonium iodide (TBAI) provides exclusive formation of carbamates.
A novel Mitsunobu -based protocol was developed for the synthesis of carbamates from the corresponding alcohols using carbon dioxide and amines in good to excellent yields. This protocol is mild, chemoselective, and efficient compared to other reported methods.

A method of production of carbamic acid ester has a high yield and high selectivity and is superior in economy. The method of production of a carbamic acid ester includes reacting an amine, carbon dioxide, and an alkoxysilane compound in the presence of a catalyst containing a zinc compound or an alkali metal compound or in the presence of an ionic liquid. A carbamic acid ester is produced, for example by reacting aniline, carbon dioxide, and tetramethoxysilane at a temperature of 150 to 180° C. in the presence of zinc acetate and 2,2′-bipyridine.

A novel process for the one-step chemoselective conversion of a variety of alcoholic tosylates into carbamates serving as protected an-fines was developed using benzyltrimethylammonium hydroxide (Triton-B) in the presence of gaseous carbon dioxide. Thus carbamate esters of different amines were prepared in very good to excellent yields.
