A method of purifying a divinyl ether compound having an alkylene skeleton may take place with low energy and in a simplified manner. Such a method for producing a divinyl ether compound may include: reacting a compound of formula (1)

is an alkylene group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, with acetylene by using an alkali metal catalyst; and purifying the divinyl ether compound of formula (2)
which is obtained in the reacting, without an extraction.

The polycarbonate resin comprises a unit (A) represented by the following formula and a unit (B) represented by the following formula as main recurring units, wherein
the molar ratio (A/B) of the unit (A) to the unit (B) is 30/70 to 99/1.
(In the above formula, X is an alkylene group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms or cycloalkylene group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, R is an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and "m" is an integer of 1 to 10.)
A copolycarbonate having a low water absorption coefficient and excellent heat resistance, low temperature characteristics and surface hardness.
The copolycarbonate (Z) of the present invention contains a unit (A) represented by the following formula and a unit (B) represented by the following formula (B) as main recurring units, the (A/Bn=1) molar ratio of the unit (A) and the unit (Bn=1) being 40/60 to 99/1. The unit (Bn=1) is a single unit constituting a block.

Provided is an improved method for continuously producing a high molecular weight polycarbonate resin by subjecting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer and an aliphatic diol compound to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction, wherein even an aliphatic diol compound having a comparatively low boiling point can be allowed to efficiently contribute to the linking and highly polymerizing reaction, and a high molecular weight polycarbonate resin of superior quality can be produced both economically and advantageously.
Provided is a method which comprises producing an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer by a polycondensation reaction between an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a diester carbonate, adding thereto an aliphatic diol compound having an aliphatic group that bonds to a terminal hydroxyl group to obtain a prepolymer mixture, and subjecting the resulting prepolymer mixture to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction under a reduced pressure condition, wherein the aliphatic diol compound is added at a pressure exceeding 200 torr, and then, the prepolymer mixture is subjected to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction before the terminal hydroxyl group concentration of the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer in the prepolymer mixture reaches 2000 ppm.
