Novel cyan dye-forming couplers usable for forming silver halide color photographic materials and silver halide photosensitive materials containing at least one of the above couplers are provided.
The cyan couplers of the present invention have a hetero atom in a ring having a group which can be dissociated. The cyan couplers of the present invention have excellent light resistance and fastness to heat and other advantages that the absorption characters of the developed dye are excellent, namely the absorption waves are sharp, and that the color reproducibility can be improved or, in other words, the visible absorption in a short wave length region unnecessary in the reproduction of colors is only slight and the color reproduction region is widened.
