A series of α,α-disubstituted amines have been prepared in a simple and efficient one-pot procedure by the addition of Grignardreagents to a series of aliphatic, aromatic, and heteroaromatic nitriles. Key to this reported procedure is the unprecedented addition of the Grignardreagent to the nitrile under heating by microwave irradiation which both significantly improves reaction yields and reduces

Abstract Thirty-six novel threoninamide carbamatederivatives were designed and synthesised using active fragment-based pharmacophore model. Antifungal activities of these compounds were tested against Oomycete fungi Phytophthora capsici in vitro and in vivo. Interestingly, compound I-1, I-2, I-3, I-6 and I-7 exhibited moderate control effect (>50%) against Pseudoperonospora cubensis in greenhouse
Novel imides are inhibitors of tumor necrosis factor &agr; and can be used to combat cachexia, endotoxic shock, and retrovirus replication. A typical embodiment is 2-Phthalimido-3-(3′,4′-dimethoxyphenyl)propane.

Data on the heterophase polymerisation of styrene under conditions of surfactant formation at the monomer–water interface are generalised. A new, in principle, approach is proposed the essence of which is to obtain a monomer emulsion simultaneously with the synthesis of an emulsifier at the monomer–water interface and with initiation of the polymerisation in the interfacial layer. The preparation of
Abstract In order to find new CAA fungicides, twenty four new threoninamide carbamate derivatives were synthesized. The reaction was optimized. Their structures were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, single crystal and HRFTMS. Fungicidal activities were evaluated against P. capsici and P. cubensi. All of them exhibited excellent activity against Phytophthora capsici in vitro with EC50 values of 0.53 to
