Substituted (1,2-diarylethyl)amides have been prepared and evaluated for their ability to inhibit microsomal acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase activity in vitro and to lower hepatic cholesteryl ester content in vivo in a cholesterol-fed hamster.
