Bis(oxazoline) ligand, [2,2′-(1,3-phenylene)bis(oxazole-4,2-diyl)]-dimethanol, derived from dicyanobenzene was applied as ligand for complexation with vanadium. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, UV–Vis, 1H NMR spectroscopic methods, CHNS, ICP and thermal analyses, and magnetic susceptibility.
