Acylferrocenes containing a sulfur atom within their side chain were synthesized in good yields by Friedel-Crafts acylation of ferrocene with in situ generated acyl halides from the corresponding carboxylic acids (S-protected derivatives of thioglicolic and α- and β-mercaptopropionic acids).

Treatment of α,β-epoxy sulfoxides, prepared from 1-chloroalkyl phenyl sulfoxides and carbonyl compounds, with various kinds of alkane- or arenethiolates afforded α-sulfenylated ketones in good yields. This method also offered a novel procedure for a synthesis of α-sulfenylated aldehydes.

We present a convenient synthesis of novel heteroaryl-fused 3-oxo-1,4-thiazepine-5-carboxamides and 5-oxo-1,4-thiazepine-3-carboxamides using a modification of four-component Ugi condensation. We demonstrate the usefulness and versatility of the developed approach for the synthesis of variously substituted compounds and discuss the scope and limitations of the chemistry involved.
Treatment of α,β-epoxy sulfoxides with excess sodium phenylselenide and various kinds of alkylthiolates gave dialkyl ketones and α-sulfenylated carbonylcompounds, respectively, in good yields under mild conditions.
The Thin Film of Fluorine-containing Polymer Having Cyclodextrin Prepared by Langmuir-Blodgett Technique

Polyallylamine modified with perfluoroalkyl groups was spread by Langmuir-Blodgetttechnique and reacted on the aqueous solution of a cyclodextrin derivative. The cyclodextrin moiety was first introduced to the thinfilm of fluorine-containing polymer. The film of the polymer having the cyclodextrin moiety was characterized.
