The reactivity of Ossub 2}(CO)sub 8}(mu}-CHsub 2}) and other diosmacyclopropanes toward CO has been investigated. The preparation of Ossub 2}(CO)sub 8}(mu}-CHCHsub 3}) from ethylene ditriflate is described, and the reversible carbonylation of the osmium complex to a dimetallacyclobutanone is reported.
