(wherein R¹, R², R³, R⁴ and R⁵ are as defined in the specification) to react with hydroxylamine;
a process for producing a substituted phenoxyethylamine of the formula:
(wherein R¹, R² and R³ are as defined in the specification), which comprises reducing a substituted phenoxyacetaldehyde oxime of the formula (II) with hydrogen in the presence of a Raney-nickel catalyst; and
a substituted phenoxyacetaldehyde oxime of the formula:
(wherein R¹, R² and R⁶ are as defined in the specification).
