Structure and synthesis of pallescensin E utilising a modified Wadsworth–Emmons reaction

A modified Wadsworth–Emmons reaction using a catalytic amount of 15-crown-5 has been employed in the synthesis of the naturally occurring furosesquiterpene pallescensin E. The structure of this compound has been confirmed by comparison of its spectral data with those of the synthesised isomer, 9,10-dihydro-7,8-dimethyl-4H-benzo[4,5]cyclohepta[1,2-b]furan.
天然存在的呋喃倍半萜烯pallescensin E的合成中,使用了催化量为15-crown-5的改良的Wadsworth-Emmons反应。通过比较其光谱数据与合成异构体的光谱数据,证实了该化合物的结构,9,10-二氢-7,8-二甲基-4 H-苯并[4,5]环庚[1,2- b ]呋喃。
