New tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)ethenes: synthesis and electrochemical investigations

Four novel functional conjugated tetraarylamines containing a tetraphenylenecore were synthesized via Ni-catalyzed aryl amination followed by McMurry olefination. Their electrochemical properties were studied by cyclic voltammetry, coulometry, and electrolysis monitored by UV-vis spectroscopy, and discussed with regard to those of the known tetrakis(dimethylaminophenyl)ethane. 2-Aryl-2-(chloroaryl)-1,3-dioxolanes 4 were lithiated ortho to the ketal group of the chloroaryl ring by treatment with butyllithium in THF between −78 and 0 °C. The site selectivity of some of the deprotonation reactions was rationalized by the long-range effect of the 4-chloro substituent. Die Erfindung betrifft neuartige silylierte Polyaryletherketone, die zumindest eine Einheit mit der allgemeinen Strukturformel (I) oder (II) enthalten. Durch den Einbau von verbrückenden oder nichtverbrückenden Silylgruppen in Polyaryletherketone ist es möglich, den Schmelzpunkt bzw. Schmelzbereich der Polyaryletherketone genauer zu definieren bzw. einzustellen, als dies bislang möglich ist. Auf diese Weise lässt sich eine Feinabstimmung der Materialeigenschaften der Polyaryletherketone erreichen.
