Herein α-bromoacrylic acids have been employed as C1 insertion units to achieve the palladium-catalyzed [4 + 1] annulation of 2-iodobiphenyls, which provides an efficient platform for the construction of diverse dibenzofulvenes. This protocol enables the formation of double C(aryl)–C(vinyl) bonds via a C(vinyl)–Br bond cleavage and decarboxylation. It is particularly noteworthy that the method features

Cyclopenta-fused polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (CP-PAHs), potentially electronically and biologically highly active materials, were synthesized from readily available 2-aryl-substituted anilines. Reactions occur under extremely mild, room temperature conditions using tBuONO as the sole reagent. The use of a nitrite source generates a reactive diazonium intermediate in situ that then reacts with

An efficient method for the synthesis of 6-alkynyl phenanthridines was developed. The method offered the first example to use 2-propynamides as substrates in the Bischler–Napieralskireaction and to create alkynylnitrilium triflates as new active intermediates in organic synthesis.
The first example of the palladium-catalyzed primary amine-directed C(sp2)–H alkynylation of biaryl-2-amines has been developed by using (bromoethynyl)triisopropylsilane as an alkynylating reagent. This protocol exhibits a broad substrate scope, excellent regioselectivity and gram-scale synthesis. Significantly, the versatility of this straightforward method was further demonstrated by controlled mono-
[Problem] To provide a method for producing a triarylamine compound in which the reaction can be attained under a practical condition, the purification operation after the reaction is simple, the environmental burden is reduced and the production efficiency is high.
[Means for Resolution] A method for producing a triarylamine compound through amination of a diarylamine compound and an aryl halide, wherein a catalyst comprising a salt of an imidazolium derivative represented by the following general formula (1) and a palladium compound is used, as combined with a base and a solvent to coexist therein.
