Synthesis, Magnetic, Thermal, and Spectral Studies of Some Chelates of Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Sm(III), and Th(IV) Involving Aroylhydrazones Derived from Isonicotinic Acid Hydrazide and 2‐Furyl Methyl and 2‐Thienyl Methyl Ketone
摘要:
Two aroylhydrazones, viz., isonicotinic acid [1-(furan-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide (IFEH) and isonicotinic acid [1-(thiophene-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazide (ITEH) have been synthesized by the interaction of 2-furyl methyl ketone and 2-thienyl methyl ketone with isonicotinic acid hydrazide in ethanol. Metal chelates of these hydrazones of the compositions [Cu(IFE)(2)(H2O)(2)].H2O (1), [Ni(IFE)(2)].H2O (2), [Co(IFE)(2)(H2O)(2)] (3), [Mn(IFE)(2)(H2O)(2)].H2O (4), [Zn(IFE)(2)]-H2O (5), [Cu(ITE)(2)] (6), [Zn(ITE)(2)] (7), [Sm(ITE)(2)(OAc)(H2O) (8) and [Th(ITE)(2) (NO3)(2)] (9) (HOAc = CH3COOH) have been prepared. The coordination behaviour of these two hydrazones with different metal ions has been discussed on the basis of analytical data, electronic spectra, magnetic measurements, thermogravimetric analyses, and infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectral studies.

was evaluated and the most significant intermediates and transitionstates, in the gas phase and in the presence of water and methanol were resolved. The solvent has positive effect on the reaction mechanism, but the organicsolvent is unnecessary during the synthesis of crystalline isonicotinoylhydrazones derived from aldehydes. Mixing solid/liquid reactants together without additional solvent reduce
