  Erythro-1,2-dimethyl-3-pentinyl triflate (9) solvolyses in 97% 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol with formation of the 2,3,4-trimethyl-cyclobutanones 14a and 14b, but without formation of 14c, showing that a SN2-like transition state is involved even in the cyclization of secondary homopropargyl compounds.

  三氟甲磺酸1,2,2-二甲基-3-戊基戊酯（9）在97％2,2,2-三氟乙醇中溶剂化，形成2,3,4-三甲基-环丁酮14a和14b，但未形成14c，表明甚至在仲炔丙基化合物的环化中也涉及到类似于S N 2的过渡态。
