  从 4-(ω-iodoperfluorobutyl)-2-methylbut-3-yn-2-ol 开始，在 Rupe 条件下一步形成 5-(ω-iodoperfluoropropyl)furan-3(2H)-one（回流用甲酸，产率 93%）。使用 Huang 系统 (Na 2 S 2 O 4 -NaHCO 3 , MeCN-H 2 O)，通过自由基链过程将该化合物添加到 2-methylbut-3-yn-2-ol 中，产生预期的加合物 (47 %)、加氢脱碘等效化合物 (35%) 和含有部分氟化环的新螺环化合物 (18%)。后一种化合物可能来自一个有趣的环化过程。碘加合物被加氢脱碘（Zn-AcOH-EtOH，最终产率 82%）并通过 Mitsunobu 醚化（PPh 3 -DIAD-THF）添加到伞形酮中，产生（45%）具有氟化链段的预期 Geiparvarin 类似物。

Yields observed appear as largely depending on the nature of the unsaturated substrate used.
