The first stereoselective and efficient total synthesis of isoaspinonene by using Baylis–Hillman reaction, chelation-controlled vinyl Grignard reaction, Wittig olefination, and olefin cross-metathesis reaction of a hitherto unreported substrate as the key steps is described.
