A palladium-catalyzed diacetoxylation of alkenes in the presence of peracetic acid and aceticanhydride was developed to produce diacetates efficiently and diastereoselectively. Due to its mild conditions, this method was suitable for a broad range of substrates encompassing conjugated and nonconjugated olefins.
