A pigment dispersion liquid capable of stably recording images having high fastness and excellent quality for a long term in any cases has been provided. A pigment dispersion liquid mainly containing a polymer dispersant, a pigment and water, wherein the polymer dispersant is a copolymer comprised of at least a hydrophobic unit and a hydrophilic unit, the hydrophobic unit has a block portion comprised of at least one hydrophobic monomer, the hydrophilic unit has at least a repeating unit structure of an acrylamide structure of the following general formula (1), and the segment number (A) of the block portion comprised of a hydrophobic monomer to the number (B) of all segments of the polymer dispersant is in a range of 0.07 to 0.85 in terms of A/B ratio.
To provide a pigment dispersion liquid which provides an ink capable of recording an image having high fixability and fastness such as scratch resistance and excellent quality stably for a long time in any conditions. A pigment dispersion liquid mainly containing a polymer dispersant, a coloring material and water, in which the polymer dispersant is formed of at least a hydrophobic unit and a hydrophilic unit, the hydrophobic unit having a block portion formed of at least one hydrophobic monomer, the coloring material is formed of a pigment having on its surface an acid form anionic group, and the pigment dispersion liquid further contains a basic compound capable of forming a complex with an alkaline metal.

Disclosed is an amphiphilic copolymer that can be used in film-forming compositions for dermal applications. The amphiphilic copolymer is characterized by having a defined structure with a hydrophilic polymer backbone and pendant hydrophobic groups. When applied to the skin, the copolymer rearranges in contact with the lipid-rich domains of the outermost layer of the skin, resulting in stable film formation. The amphiphilic copolymer contains active ingredients covalently attached, such as sunscreens, humectants,, cosmeceuticals or dermatologically active drugs or colourings, resulting in skin immobilization of the active ingredient.
