  本发明涉及一种羧酸异辛醇酯的制备方法与应用。该方法包括：在磺酸咪唑类离子液体存在下，使羧酸与异辛醇反应，得到所述羧酸异辛醇酯。本发明方法采用磺酸咪唑类离子液体作为羧酸与异辛醇反应的催化剂，可以在无溶剂条件下进行酯化反应，反应时间短(3小时)且转化率高(能够达到90％以上)。成品经蒸馏即可以得到，单釜反应物料的投料量大，并且离子液体可以回收利用；且不需要使用大量溶剂，产物分离过程简单，对环境友好。本制备方法所得的羧酸异辛醇酯可用于制备改性有机硅微球。
