The kinetic resolution of (+/-)-iodophenylethanols was carried out using lipase from Candida antarctica and in some cases the enantiomeric excesses were high (up to >98%). Enantiomerically enriched (S)-iodophenylethanols produced by the enzymatic resolution process were used in the synthesis of chiral biphenyl compounds by the Suzuki reaction with good yields (63-65%). [EN] The present invention relates to a method for immobilizing enzymes in a solid porous support, and to enzymes immobilized in solid porous supports. Specifically, the present invention uses a fluid containing the enzyme under high pressure (such as 25 to 50Mpa) to immobilize the enzyme (such as CALB) on the porous support (such as silica). The resulting porous support contain more immobilized enzyme than would otherwise have been obtained by a process carried out at atmospheric pressures. [FR] L'invention concerne une méthode d'immobilisation d'enzymes dans un support solide poreux, ainsi que les enzymes immobilisées dans ces supports. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne l'utilisation d'un fluide contenant l'enzyme soumis à une forte pression (de l'ordre de 25 à 50 Mpa) pour immobiliser l'enzyme (telle que la CALB) sur un support poreux (tel que de la silice). The present invention provides new stable crystalline N-iodoamides - 1-iodo- 3,5,5-trimethylhydantoin (1-ITMH) and 3-iodo-4,4-dimethyl-2-oxazolidinone (IDMO). The present invention further provides a process for the preparation of organic iodides using N-iodoamides of this invention and recovery of the amide co-products from waste water.
