A palladium‐catalyzed intermolecular dynamic kinetic asymmetric dearomatization of 3‐arylindoles with internal alkynes was developed with the use of achiral Xantphos and chiral sulfinamide phosphine ligand (PC‐Phos) as the co‐ligands. This method could deliver various spiro[indene‐1,3′‐indole] compounds in good yields (up to 95 % yield) with up to 98 % ee. The salient features of the transformation

A method for the synthesis of fused 1,2-naphthoquinones, as analogues of biologically active natural terpene quinones, is described. The intermediate polycyclic naphthalenes were prepared by a one-pot palladium-catalysed process from simple alkynes, one of which was made from an optically pure biomass-derived levoglucosenone. The prepared methoxy-substituted naphthalenes were subsequently transformed
A series of photochromic four-coordinate spirocyclic boron(iii) compounds that display thermally activated upconversion processes from the lower-lying unreactive excited state to the higher-lying photoreactive excited state is reported.
family of planar chiral indene-fused ferrocenes were prepared through an intramolecular asymmetric C–H arylation in excellent yields (up to 99%) with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). They were thereafter successfully transformed to chiral ferrocenyl phosphines, featuring both planar and central chiralities, in good yields (up to 83%) and excellent diastereoselectivities (up to 99% de) through
Two different series of novel analogs of 6,7-aryl/hetaryl coumarins 4a-4h and 8i-8l have been synthesized by using Suzuki-Miyara cross coupling reaction from 4-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl trifluoro-methanesulfonate and 4-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-6-yl trifluoromethanesulfonate in high yields (70-90%). All synthesized compounds were elucidated by means of IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, and MS spectra. The synthesized compounds were tested for antiproliferative activity against different human cancer cell lines (SiHa, MDAMB-231, and PANC-1) and some of products demonstrated the distinctive effect.
