As an intermediate model for activedinuclear metal sites in phosphohydrolases, a novel dicopper(II) complex with a terminal hydroxide has been prepared using a new dinucleatingligand with intramolecular hydrogen-bonding N–H sites and sterically hindered tert-butyl groups. It has been characterized by X-ray structure analysis, magnetic susceptibility, and ESR and electronic absorption spectroscopies
