Circular and rhombic tubular building blocks interweave mutually into a novel 2-fold interpenetrated 3D PtS framework [Zn(ADB)(H2O)](n) (1) (H(2)ADB = azobenzen-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid), with hydrogen-bonded-O-metal-O-chain. In additional, solid-state properties such as photoluminescence and thermal stability of the complex I have also been studied. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
