[image omitted] Michael tandem addition-cyclization of N-substituted hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the presence of tBuOK in tBuOH at reflux to allyl bromides (Z)-1 and (Z)-2 provides an effective alternative to access to [1,2]isoxazolidin-5-ones 3 and functional 2,5-dihydro[1,2]oxazin-6-ones 4 in fair to good yields and total stereoselectivity.
