  [(tert-Butyldimethylsilypoxy]methanethiol [HSCH2OSiMe2Bu-t] is a nucleophilic reagent for introduction of a protected bivalent sulfur; this reagent is complementary to the electrophilic reagent p-MeC6H4SO2SCH2OSiMe2Bu-t.
