Copper-mediated trifluoromethylation of diaryliodonium salts with TMSCF3 at room temperature

A convenient method for the preparation of trifluoromethylated arenes from the reaction of diaryliodonium salts with TMSCF3 in the presence of CuBF4 center dot(MeCN)(4) and KF at room temperature within 25 min was developed. This reaction provides a valuable complement to the previously established trifluoromethylation methods. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A straightforward and efficient synthesis of acridinederivatives via a copper-catalyzed cascade reaction among isoxazoles and diaryliodoniumsalts is achieved. Various mono-, multi-substituted and 9-substituted acridinederivatives could be obtained in moderate to good yields. The process has gone through tandem double arylation and Friedel-Craftsreactions.

With visible-light irradiation, a simple and metal-free photocatalytic system for the synthesis of diaryl ethers from arylboronic acids and diaryliodonium salts has been developed. The reaction proceeded in high yield for a range of different substrates in the presence of eosin Y under mild reaction conditions.
