  Reaction of bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)ethane (bte), MnSo(4) (.) H2O with KNCS or NaN(CN)(2) yields two novel polymers [Mn(gauchebte)(2)(NCS)2](n .) [Mn(anti-bte)(H2O)(2)(NCS)(2)](n) (1) which contains both double-stranded chain and single chain and both the gauche and anti conformations bte, and forms three-dimensional hydrogen bond network, and {Mn(gauche-bte)(2)[N(CN)(2)](2)}(n) (2) which contains double-stranded chain.
