    3-Pyrazolidinone compounds having a solubility of at least 12 grams/liter in an aqueous medium of pH 9 of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a mononuclear phenyl group having substituents in the 3, 4, or 5 positions with a total of no more than 4 non-metallic atoms with an atomic number greater than 1 and the total mass of the substituents being less than that of benzene, Q is an aqueous-solubilizing group of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently a hydrogen, or alkyl group or together with the included nitrogen form a 5 or 6 membered heterocyclic ring composed of carbon, nitrogen and no more than one atom from the group of sulfur and oxygen, the total number of atoms in R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 having an atomic number greater than 1 being equal to or less than 6.

    This invention relates to a polyurethane resin-forming sealing material for cables comprising a component (A) which comprises a water-insoluble water absorbent resin dispersion and a component (B) which comprises an organic polyisocyanate. A water absorbent resin dispersion used in the sealing material is a dispersion having a water absorbent resin or a hydrogel thereof dispersed in a polyol, and the dispersion is prepared by the polymerization of a water-soluble monomer or a precursor thereof and a crosslinking agent and/or a polysaccharide in a polyol. This invention is for providing a sealing material for optical fiber cables having an excellent water-stoppability without the risk of falling-off at the time of cable connection.

    The object of the present invention is to provide a base oil for hydraulic oil suitably used for hydraulic systems having filters of which micropore diameter is 50µm or less, which is capable to improve the decrease of flow in a hydraulic pump at low temperature like -30°C or less and capable to normally operate the hydraulic systems. The invention also provides a hydraulic oil composition using the above base oil, especially a hydraulic oil composition suitably used for such as tractors, transmissions, and common systems thereof having the hydraulic systems. In order to achieve the object, provided is a base oil for hydraulic oil comprising mineral oil, wherein the mineral oil is defined by kinematic viscosity at 100°C: 1.5~6mm2/s, pour-point: -10°C or less, viscosity index: 100 or more, %CP: 70 or more, %CA: 2 or less, and aniline point: 106°C or more; and wherein, the mineral base oil is treated by catalytic dewaxing process and/or contains tertiary carbon atoms at a ratio of 7.4% or more to the total carbon atoms.
