Stereospecific approach to α,β-disubstituted nitroalkenes via coupling of α-bromonitroalkenes with boronic acids and terminal acetylenes
摘要:
(Z)-alpha-Bromo-beta-substituted nitroethylenes undergo facile Suzuki coupling with aryl, heteroaryl, and vinylboronic acids in the presence of Pd(PPh3)(4) as catalyst to afford (E)-alpha,beta-disubstituted nitroethylenes in high yield (up to 95%) and complete specificity. Similar coupling of alpha-bromonitroethylenes with terminal acetylenes (Sonogashira coupling) provides a novel route to (E)-nitroenynes. These Pd-catalyzed coupling methods offer a convenient and stereospecific entry into a diverse array of synthetically and biologically useful alpha,beta-disubstituted nitroethylenes. A highlydiastereoselective [3 + 2]-cycloaddition strategy involving multiple oxindoles and several α,β-disubstituted nitroethylenes is developed to access tetra-substituted α-spiropyrrolidine frameworks. A variety of α-amino acids were employed for the first time in order to generate azomethine ylides under thermal conditions, affording regioisomers 13 and 14 merely by changing the α-substituents

Disclosed herein are the methods of using specific di-cationic or multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from primary amine or polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compound or from polyamines through both an aza-Michael addition with an α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compound and a ring-opening reaction with an epoxide, in a fouling control composition to reduce microbial and/biofilm growth in a water system. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used single quaternary compounds for reducing microbial or biofilm growth in water systems.
A cationic polymer salt composition is provided that includes a reaction product derived from reaction of a polyamine or a polyalkyleneimine and a substituted alkyl trialkyl quaternary ammonium salt. Also provided are surfactant compositions. The compositions may also include carriers, such as water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, isobutanol, monoethyleneglycol, an ethyleneglycol monobutyl ether, and hexylene glycol.

A microbial inhibiting composition and method is disclosed. The composition comprises an amount, effective for the intended purpose of decylthioethanamine hydrochloride and 2-(2-bromo-2-nitroethenyl) furan. The method comprises administering an amount of this combined treatment to the particular water containing system for which treatment is desired.
A bacterial composition and method for inhibiting the growth of bacteria particularly the capsulated, facultative bacterium, Klebsiella pneumoniae. The composition comprises 2-(2-bromo-2-nitroethenyl) furan (BNEF) and an additional biocidal component. The method comprises administering between about 0.1 to about 200 parts of the composition (based on one million parts of the desired aqueous system) to the particular water containing system for which treatment is desired.
