    A process for producing an olefin polymer or copolymer which comprises polymerizing or copolymerizing olefins or copolymerizing an olefin with up to 5 mole% of a diolefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a titanium catalyst component containing magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron donor, an organoaluminum catalyst component and a third catalyst component, characterized in that said catalyst is composed of (A) a titanium catalyst component containing magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron donor as essential ingredients, said electron donor being selected from the group consisting of (a) esters of polyfunctional compounds selected from polycarboxylic acids having 5 to 36 carbon atoms, polyhydroxy compounds having 6 to 28 carbon atoms and hydroxy-substituted carboxylic acids having 10 to 28 carbon atoms, (b) monocarboxylic acid esters of the formula RCOOR' in which each of R and R' represents a hydrocarbyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and at least one of them represents a branched-chain group, an alicyclic group, or an aryl ring-containing linear group, and (c) carbonic acid esters having 6 to 18 carbon atoms, (B) an organoaluminum compound, and (C) a substituted methylenediamine compound as a third component; and a catalyst composition used therefor.

    A catalyst for polymerization of an olefin, said catalyst being formed from [A] a solid titanium catalyst component com­prising magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron donor as essential ingredients, [B] an organoaluminum compound catalyst com­ponent, and [C] an electron donor catalyst component com­prising at least two electron donors including an electron donor (1) and an electron donor (2), the MFR (a) of homopolypropylene obtained by using the electron donor (1) together with the solid titanium catalyst component [A] and the organoaluminum compound catalyst component [B] has the following relation to the MFR (b) of homo­polypropylene obtained by using the electron donor (2) under the same polymerization conditions as in the case of using the electron donor (1) log [MFR (b)/MFR (a)]≧1.5. This catalyst can give an olefin polymer having a broad molecular weight. Also provided is a process for poly­merizing or copolymerizing an olefin in the presence of the above catalyst.

    The invention describes novel 1-arylimidazoles of formula (I) wherein typically preferred substituents are: X is S(O)nR1, in which R1 is an alkyl group, preferably a methyl group, which is fully substituted by halogen atoms, and n is 0, 1 and 2; Y is selected from a hydrogen or halogen atom or a group selected from methylsulfenyl, methylsulfinyl or methylsulfonyl; Z is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group, preferably methyl; and R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are selected from a hydrogen or a halogen atom or a group selected from an unsubstituted or halo-substituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkylsulfenyl, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl. The invention further describes intermediates and processes to make the compounds, compositions of the compounds and to methods of use of the compounds for the control of arthropods (especially mites, aphids or insects), nematodes, helminths, or protozoa.
