    A light-emitting element with high emission efficiency. The light-emitting element includes a pair of electrodes and an EL layer between the pair of electrodes. In the light-emitting element, the EL layer contains at least a light-emitting material, the light-emitting material is a 1,6-bis(diphenylamino)pyrene derivative, and a structural change between an excited state and a ground state in the 1,6-bis(diphenylamino)pyrene derivative is smaller than that in a 1,6-bis(diphenylamino)pyrene derivative in which hydrogen is bonded to ortho positions of two phenyl groups of each of two diphenylamino groups.

    A light-emitting device material with a low refractive index is provided. The light-emitting device material contains an organic compound which has a pyridine skeleton, a diazine skeleton, or a triazine skeleton and in which the proportion of carbon atoms forming a bond by sp 3 hybrid orbitals is within a certain range. The light-emitting device material contains an organic compound including at least one six-membered heteroaromatic ring having 1 to 3 nitrogen atoms and a plurality of aromatic hydrocarbon rings each having 6 to 14 carbon atoms in a ring. At least two of the plurality of aromatic hydrocarbon rings are benzene rings. The organic compound has a plurality of hydrocarbon groups forming a bond by the sp 3 hybrid orbitals. The ordinary refractive index of a layer containing the organic compound with respect to light with a wavelength in the range from 455 nm to 465 nm is 1.5 to 1.75.

    A material for a hole-transport layer includes a monoamine compound. The first aromatic group, the second aromatic group, and the third aromatic group are bonded to the nitrogen atom of the monoamine compound. The total number of the carbon atoms in the hydrocarbon group in the first or second aromatic group is 6 or more. The total number of the carbon atoms in all of the hydrocarbon groups in the first and second aromatic groups is 8 or more. The third aromatic group is a substituted or unsubstituted monocyclic condensed ring or a substituted or unsubstituted bicyclic or tricyclic condensed ring.
